Pneumococcal bacteria can cause pneumonia, meningitis and blood infections, and the risk of serious illness is highest in older adults and people with long-term conditions. Prevenar 20 covers 20 pneumococcal types, and most adults need only 1 dose. It's recommended from 65, and earlier if you have diabetes, heart, lung or kidney disease, smoke or have a weak immune system.
