Description
Viagra 100 mg Tablets are a prescription oral medication containing sildenafil citrate, primarily used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. By maintaining higher levels of cGMP, Viagra supports increased blood flow to penile tissue when a man is sexually excited. Viagra 100 mg is generally taken about 30 minutes to 4 hours before anticipated sexual activity, with the typical onset of action around 30–60 minutes. The maximum recommended dose is one 100 mg tablet per day, and sexual arousal is required for the medicine to be effective taking Viagra alone will not cause an erection without sexual stimulation. In addition to treating ED, sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra is the same medicine used (at other approved doses) to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in adults to help improve exercise tolerance, although Viagra's specific brand use is principally for ED. Viagra is a prescription medicine and should only be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional to ensure safety and appropriateness of therapy, especially in men with cardiovascular disease or those taking certain other medications.
