Description
Tamiflu 75 mg Hard Capsules are a prescription antiviral medication containing oseltamivir phosphate 75 mg, designed to treat and help prevent influenza (flu) caused by influenza A and B viruses. This antiviral capsule is commonly prescribed for adults and adolescents (13 years and older) and may also be used in children (dosage adjusted by weight) to treat flu symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and fatigue. In addition to treatment, Tamiflu can be prescribed for post-exposure prophylaxis to help prevent influenza onset in individuals who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with the flu, especially in high-risk settings or during community outbreaks. Tamiflu should be taken exactly as prescribed by a healthcare provider, and treatment is most effective when begun as early as possible after symptom onset. The typical adult treatment regimen involves taking one 75 mg capsule twice daily for five days, while preventive use is usually once daily for around ten days or longer based on risk and exposure.
