Description
Mucopain 10% Oral Gel is a local anesthetic oral gel containing benzocaine. It is used for temporary relief of pain and discomfort in the mouth, gums, and oral mucosa when recommended by a doctor or pharmacist. Benzocaine works by numbing the affected area and blocking local pain signals for a short period. It may be used for mouth ulcers, gum irritation, denture irritation, minor oral injuries, toothache related discomfort, or pain caused by orthodontic appliances as directed. This medicine is for oral topical use only and should be applied carefully to the affected area. It should not be swallowed in large amounts or used more often than recommended. Possible side effects may include temporary burning, stinging, irritation, redness, numbness, allergic reaction, or rare serious blood related reactions such as methemoglobinemia. These are not all the possible side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider if symptoms persist, worsen, or if any side effect bothers you.
