Kidnitan Plus Potassium Citrate Granules are oral urinary alkalinising granules used to support urinary health and help prevent recurrence of certain types of kidney stones when recommended by a doctor or pharmacist. It contains potassium citrate, a urinary alkalinising agent that works by making the urine less acidic. This action may help reduce urinary irritation linked with acidic urine and may also support prevention of uric acid, cystine, and calcium oxalate stone formation in selected patients. The granules are taken by mouth after dissolving in water and should be used with adequate fluid intake unless otherwise advised. This product should be used with medical guidance in people with kidney disease, high potassium levels, heart disease, diabetes, dehydration, urinary tract infection, or those taking potassium supplements, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or potassium sparing diuretics. Possible side effects may include stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, gas, abdominal pain, or high potassium levels. These are not all the possible side effects.
