Description
Avalon Prila 5% Cream is a topical local anesthetic cream containing lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5%. It is used to temporarily numb the skin before procedures such as needle insertion, blood sampling, minor superficial skin procedures, laser treatment, or other procedures when recommended by a doctor or pharmacist. Lidocaine and prilocaine belong to the amide local anesthetic group and work by blocking pain signals in the applied area after penetrating the skin surface. This medicine is for external use only and should be applied only to the area being treated, using the amount and application time advised by a healthcare professional. It should not be used on open wounds, irritated skin, eyes, or mucous membranes unless specifically directed. Possible side effects may include temporary redness, paleness, swelling, itching, burning, tingling, or irritation at the application site. These are not all the possible side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider if any side effect bothers you, becomes severe, or does not go away.
