Description
Ashrolyte Oral Rehydration Salts contains a scientifically balanced formula of electrolytes, glucose and essential minerals which when added to water may be used to replenish the body's water and electrolytes and thereby helps to maintain a healthy fluid balance. Oral rehydration solutions (ORS) are used to treat dehydration caused by diarrhea, a common illness in travellers. Unlike other fluids, the ratio of the ingredients in an ORS matches what the body needs to recover from a diarrheal illness and vomiting. An ORS contains 3 ingredients: Clean water that has been boiled or disinfected or from a commercially sealed bottle, electrolytes (also called “salts”), which are chemicals that your body needs to function properly and carbohydrates, usually in the form of sugar. Each sachet of this formula contains Sodium Chloride BP 2.6gm, Potassium Chloride BP 1.5gm, Sodium Citrate BP 2.9gm, Dextrose USP (Anhydrous) 13.5gm & excipients. The glucose contained in ORS solution enables the intestine to absorb the fluid and the salts more efficiently. Thus, the Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT) offers general hydration during sports, exercise, travel and hot climates.
