Scabigel 50mg/g Topical Gel is an antiparasitic medication used for the treatment of scabies, a contagious skin infestation caused by mites. It contains permethrin 50mg per gram, equivalent to a 5% concentration, which acts on the nervous system of scabies mites to paralyse and eliminate them. The gel is applied over the required areas of the body, including skin folds and other commonly affected sites, to support complete treatment of the infestation. Temporary itching, redness, stinging or skin irritation may occur after application, and itching can continue for a period even after the mites have been successfully treated. Close household or intimate contacts may also require treatment at the same time to reduce the risk of reinfestation.
