Blocida Calcium Carbonate Chewable Tablets are an oral antacid and anti-flatulent medicine used for the temporary relief of acidity, heartburn, acid indigestion, gas, bloating and abdominal discomfort. Each chewable tablet contains calcium carbonate 500mg and activated dimethicone 125mg. Calcium carbonate neutralises excess stomach acid to reduce acid-related discomfort, while activated dimethicone helps combine and disperse trapped gas bubbles so they can pass more easily. The tablets have a strawberry flavour and must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Possible side effects may include constipation, nausea, abdominal discomfort or changes in bowel habits. People with kidney disease, kidney stones, high blood calcium levels or persistent digestive symptoms should seek medical advice before use.
