It is especially suitable for those who prefer a cleanser that can be held in the hand like normal soap. QV Bar moisturises as it cleanses and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. It is suitable for daily use on the face and body and is pH balanced to help maintain the skin’s natural protection. Featured ingredients in the bar includes glycerin, petrolatum and lactic acid. Lactic acid is a mild exfoliant that helps to remove dead, outer skin while improving skin moisture. Lactic acid belongs to the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) family. AHAs have been shown to reduce transepidermal water loss improving the water content of the skin. AHAs have also been found to improve skin texture, improve skin brightness, improve firmness and decrease wrinkling. Thus lactic acid can increase the plasticization, thereby decreasing the formation of dry skin. Another active moisturising ingredient Glycerin, is a humectant, helping to draw and hold water to the skin to maintain hydration. Moisturizing feature of glycerin can produce long-lasting moisturisation on the skin. At high humidity, Glycerin acts as a humectant, while at low humidity it acts as a skin moisturiser and conditioner by inhibiting lipid phase transition. Glycerin has the effect of moisturizing the skin and improves skin texture. It also protects the skin from external stimuli by strengthening its barrier.
