Fulton Lactifol Hard Gelatin Capsules is a Lactoferrin and Folic Acid based formulation useful in case of deficiency or increase need of these nutrients. Folic Acid, mainly indicated for pregnant woman, contributes to maternal tissues growth during gestation period. Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein naturally present in human and bovine milk, characterised by the capability of binding Iron. Folic acid is a vitamin in the B group (Vitamin B9). It plays an important role in the mechanism of cell division. Furthermore, it contributes to the normal haematopoiesis. Its supplementation can be particularly useful during pregnancy since Folic Acid seems to be involved in the maternal tissues growth and in the proper development of nervous system of the fetus. Low folate levels in maternal tissues constitute in fact a risk factor for development of defects in the fetus neural tube.
