Etorix 90mg Tablets is used for short-term management of pain, inflammation, and swelling in conditions that affect joints and muscles. It can help relieve pain in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gouty arthritis or even after a dental (tooth-related) surgery. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) called Selective COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) inhibitors and works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). The body produces two similar enzymes called COX-1 and COX-2. However, COX-1, among other functions, is involved with protecting the stomach, while COX-2 plays a role in joint inflammation and pain. Etorix reduces pain and inflammation by blocking COX-2, an enzyme in the body but does not block COX-1, the enzyme involved in protecting the stomach from ulcers. Henceforth, Etorix relieves pain and inflammation with less risk of stomach ulcers compared to NSAIDS. Your doctor will want discuss your treatment with Etorix from time to time. It is important that you use the lowest dose that controls your pain and you should not take Etorix for longer than necessary.
