- Treats wound infection for patients with second- and third-degree burns
Silvadiazin contains 1 gram of Silver Sulfadiazine in every 100 grams of the cream. Silver sulfadiazine belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfa antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria that may infect an open wound. This helps to decrease the risk of the bacteria spreading to surrounding skin, or to the blood where it can cause a serious blood infection.
- Helps to decrease the risk of bacterial infection
- Treats pressure sores, extensive abrasions and finger tip injuries
- Prophylaxis and treatment of infection in burn wounds, leg ulcers
- Burn wounds: apply 1-2 times daily
- Leg ulcers: apply daily in alternate days
- Finger tip injuries: apply every 2-3 days or as directed by physician
- Preferably for use of one person
- Discard any unused cream 7 days after opening
