Oftaial Plus SDU Ophthalmic Solution is a hypotonic ophthalmic solution indicated in case of dry eyes. Due to the high concentration of sodium hyaluronate (0.4%) and the presence of salts such as magnesium to potassium, the product humidifies and lubricates the ocular surface and reduces the risk of instability from the tear film. It contains taurine, the physiologically most abundant amino acid in the tear fluid and tissues of the anterior segment of the eye. Oftaial Plus, although having no pharmacological effect, protects the corneal epithelium from possible damage caused by particular conditions that may cause the onset of dry eye, such as adverse weather and environmental conditions, such as wind, cold, sun, salt water, air conditioning, smoke, smog or particulate matter; particular conditions of ophthalmic stress due to the use of contact lenses or prolonged work at video terminals or microscopes.
