Doxiproct plus rectal ointment is used for the treatment of hemorrhoids / Piles. It contains calcium dobesilate, lidocaine and dexamethasone. Calcium dobesilate which is a vasoprotective medicine which works on the walls of the small blood vessels and reduces their leakage and fragility also improves blood flow by decreasing viscosity of blood, thereby relieving inflammation (redness and swelling) in piles/hemorrhoids and promoting healing. Lidocaine helps to relieve pain and swelling. The veins around the anus tend to stretch under pressure and may bulge or swell. Hemorrhoids can develop from increased pressure in the lower rectum. Doxiproct plus rectal ointment helps to ease out the pain and swelling at the anal site.
