Use Augmentin exactly as prescribed by your doctor and follow all directions on your prescription label.
Augmentin is best taken at the start of a meal, with at least half a glass of water unless prescribed otherwise by the doctor.
Augmentin dose for a child varies depending on your child’s weight.
Tap bottle until all powder flows freely. Add approximately 2/3rd of the water to the powder. Replace cap and shake vigorously. Add remaining water. Replace cap and shake vigorously. Shake oral suspension well before using each time.
Reconstituted suspension must be stored under refrigeration (2-8 degrees) and discarded after 7 days.
Once started, antibiotic therapy should be continued as long as prescribed by the doctor.
Augmentin should be taken regularly at the same time each day.
If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and take your next dose when you are meant to. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you missed.
The signs of illness often disappear before the infection has been completely cured. Therefore, do not stop therapy early, even if you feel better.
Do not change from the prescribed dose.
